Alhumdolillah
Alhumdolilla; these words of Arabic are often repeated throughout the day by Muslims; each time one gets present to contentment one may remember Allahﷻ and Alhumdolilla. It is well known that these words translate as Allahﷻ is worthy of all praise and with reflection one can get to the truth of one's self and reliance on the Creator.
The phrase Alhumdolilla has three basic parts; Al Hamd li illah:
Al - Meaning "the."
Hamd - Meaning "praise",
Lillah - is formed from two words;
Li- Meaning "belonging to,"
lllah - Meaning God.
All Praise belongs to Allahﷻ . If one considers this statement, absolutely all praise, it can be understood that this implies that all things belong to Allahﷻ , absolutely.
Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allahﷺ said, “Allah is pleased with His slave who says: `Alhumdulillah (praise be to Allah)‘ when he takes a morsel of food and drinks a draught of water.”
All creatures and matter belong to Allahﷻ .
It is understood that our food shelter, materials etc belong to Allah and do not belong to us, we have simply been provided they things. Then what about our bodies, these too do not belong to us. We have been provided our bodies by our Creatorﷻ.
Surat 91 Ash-Shams (The Sun) Ayah 7,8
Wanafsin wama sawwaha
By the self (soul), and how He has fashioned it;
waman Faalhamaha fujooraha wataqwaha
And how He inspired it with (choice between) its deviance and its piety
As one's body is but a mere provision then what is our state - we exist as a soul or self. The soul is our true essence.. We do not exist as a body, but as merely a soul or self.. What is this self, is it a thing at all all nothing? Whatever the true form of ones's existent we get present to how dependent of Allahﷻ we are.. Maybe we are only truly exist when present in our salat.
Surah 10 Yunus Ayat 10
Wa-‘akhiru da’wa-hum anI al-hamdu lil-lahI rab-bI al-‘alamin
And the close of their request will be: Al-Hamdu Lillahi Rabbil-'Alamin [All the praises and thanks are to Allah, the Lord of 'Alamin (all that exists)]
